Life Lately and The Best Summer Decor from Target

I know I disappeared without much notice…but I am back…and so excited to share all the fun things that have been happening around here lately. For one, the exterior of our house is painted and we added new exterior lights to really finish off the outdoor transformation. (I shared my favorite exterior lights and our process of picking out our exterior paint color here and here). I know I always say that paint is a miracle worker, but wow!! The exterior of our house looks so updated just from a few coats of paint and new lights. We smile every time we pull in, it truly feels like a new house. I can’t wait to share all the before and after pictures with you guys. I think you will be pretty shocked too!

Next up, we have been working on our laundry room (inspiration post here). It is not anywhere near finished, but it has been such a fun project. Guys we are (faux) ship lapping the entire space. The space is small but still it’s so exciting that we will finally have a room full of beautiful faux shiplap. And finally, because who finishes one project before the others one are finished…I have been in the process of painting the old builder grade maple cabinets in our master bathroom. It has given the space such an updated feel, that I am kicking myself we didn’t do it years ago. And that is just what’s been happening around the house!

The boys and I have been busy checking off items on our Summer Bucket List and we took a weekend trip to Telluride. If you haven’t been, you must go! It is seriously one of the most beautiful places you will ever visit. We had such a fun time full of bike rides, hiking, fishing, and exploring. My husband and I also have been doing Whole 30 the past few weeks, and I am happy to report I am finally feeling good! It took my body a little longer than my husbands to figure out what the heck was going on, but now I feel less tired, more patient with the kids, and overall just healthier than ever. I will share more details on how we survived the whole 30 and some of my best tips for busy moms after we have completed it. We have one week left and survived a vacation so I think it should be smooth sailing from here…

It has really been feeling like summer around here. With the warm temperatures, pools and splash pads open, food trucks in bounty, and kids out of school it’s hard not to fully embrace the summer months. And then we stopped by Target a few days ago, and it really hit me Summer has arrived (although not technically until June 20th). I was majorly crushing on all the beautiful summer decor and knew I had to share it with you. I figured the best way to come back after a long break is with a Target shopping post, right?! Of course, the $1 section was amazing too, I found the cutest cocktail napkins ($1) and glass pitchers ($3) for summer entertaining on my last trip.

From my picks below you can see I was clearly swooning over it all! So I barely picked my favorite 10 items for outdoors this Summer, and then my favorite 10 items for inside this Summer. But it was hard to narrow it down.

Let’s start with the outdoors! This dining set is what outdoor farmhouse dreams are made of! I especially love that you can buy each piece separately to make this set really fit your style and budget. I had to do a double glance when I fell upon this outdoor pouf. You could put it just about anywhere! These little poufs would be perfect around a fire pit for extra seating when roasting marshmallows and keeping warm on cooler summer nights (a girl can dream!). I am loving these more rustic take on ordinary outdoor lights and extra bonus they are solar! Summer decor isn’t complete with galvanized items. I love everything about this clock! And then there is this rug and patio set. They are made for each other no?

I love all this indoor decor just as much! It feels fresh and clean for summer without being too colorful and in your face. I am drooling over these towels and market bag. I don’t even like kale but that market bag makes me want to visit our farmers market and grab some! These canisters are such a fun way to add some color to your kitchen while also being super functional. Drink dispensers are everywhere these days, but I had to add this one because it is so different from what I am used to seeing. I love the wood lid and copper details. This bedding is calling me for summer! Lastly, a little galvanized decor for inside and some (faux) greenery to bring the outdoors in.

Seriously, how beautiful is all this decor from Target, no less! I can’t wait to share more updates with you very soon. As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
